That's somethin' to be proud of

There are several noteworthy things to post as this day ends. There was no gum in the hair, only one new leaky faucet, no more police visits. That would have been enough in itself to make my day. But besides not having any extremely annoying incidents, there were some really nice things about today. Maria made her first solo trip to Riverpoint in the car they had given her. I was terrified but I knew it had to happen sometime. I actually laid hands on her and prayed that God would clean out the road ahead of her. I should pray like that over all my children more often. She made it and even had to stop and get gas and went through the drive through at Taco Bell. Amazing! The other thing was the discovery that my words and teachings are not all falling on deaf ears. The dishwasher has died and we were having a discussion over breakfast about a solution. I had the idea of using the 8 dishwashers that I already own, but they all strongly disagreed with that. The mountain in the sink was pretty bad, I must admitt. I commented that I would have to go to Lowes or Home Depot to see what dishwashers cost these days. Raymond, who I thought never paid attention to much of what I say, responded immediatly"What do you mean? You know you don't believe in supporting globalization! You said that you would never buy from a big store if you could support a local person's store. You need to go to Hulsey's Appliance." I sat stunned for a minute at that profound recollection of a one time comment of mine. Then I reached across the table and gave him a high five. Sometimes they make me proud.
